Common knowledge, unified message – an interdisciplinary resource for standardised examination of the musculoskeletal system.
A working group consisting of a general practitioner, orthopedic surgeon, physical medicine specialist, rheumatologist, and neurosurgeon has developed a proposal for how a standard examination of the musculoskeletal system can be conducted in a rational way. Furthermore, there is agreement on which special tests should be taught in medical education.
The goal has been to establish a source of knowledge about the examination of the musculoskeletal system that both students and fully trained doctors can use. Since the recommendations have been developed by professionals with different backgrounds, we have had an overarching objective "shared knowledge, unified message".
This is an ambition to convey knowledge about the examination of the musculoskeletal system in the same way regardless of professional standpoint, although it is of course acknowledged that each profession also has its field-specific approaches to examination, investigation, and treatment.
The content in BevApp has been prepared by an interdisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, and researchers – affiliated with UiT and collaborating professional environments.
