Compression and pronation/supination
The patient sits or stands during the examination. The forearm is held in a neutral position. The examiner stabilizes the distal radioulnar joint with a firm grip over the carpal bones. Then a compression force is applied in which the carpal bones are pressed against the distal radioulnar joint.
In addition to the compression force, a rotational force is applied by performing repeated supination and pronation movements. Positive test indicates pain or clicking in the joint.
